How to work out your break-even
Break-even is the point where your income covers your costs. The tool splits costs into one-time setup (interiors, equipment, deposits) and monthly running costs (rent, salaries, utilities, marketing), then uses your average revenue per customer, gross margin and expected monthly customers to find the number of customers you must serve each month just to cover costs.
It also estimates your monthly net profit and how many months it takes to recover the setup cost (payback period) β the two numbers that tell you whether the idea is worth it.
What to do if the numbers don't work
If the break-even customer count looks unrealistic, you have three levers: raise your price, improve your margin (cheaper supply, less waste), or cut fixed monthly costs. Adjust the inputs here to see which change moves the needle most before you commit money.
